The WUSD Parents' Club is a district-wide organization made up of parents and teachers who share the common goal of fostering and facilitating a strong sense of community and school spirit through fundraising events. We accomplish this by providing services, hosting family events, and offering financial support to each of our three school sites and their teachers.

    How much does it cost? Annual membership is $40 per family.  In appreciation for your contribution members will receive:

    1. a pdf directory of WUSD Parents’ Club families;
    2. free admission to our Family Back to School Movie night;
    3. a free ice cream for each member child at their school site in September.

    Where does money go? The funds raised by our events are used to purchase each district child a Disaster Preparedness kit compliant with School Board requirements ($10 value), provides an annual $200 gift to credentialed teachers so they can purchase supplemental classroom resources, and provides the staff, teachers, secretaries at each school site a welcome luncheon in the fall and appreciation luncheons in the spring.

    At the end of the year, the balance of the funds raised throughout the year is distributed amongst the three district schools proportional to the student population. In other words, each school receives the same amount per student. Most years, the Districts receives between $18,000 and $20,000 which is approximately $24.00 per student. Last year we were able to write the district a check for $22,500!

    Last year, Toro Park School used our funds to purchase Bee-Bots and host three assemblies (Dome on the Go, The Character Show!, and the Science Museum), purchase EZ View Microscopes and iPad cases and chargers.  At Washington Union, our funds sponsored the Lyceum Spelling Bee, Outdoor Science School and Goldrush Scholarships, character Assemblies, science assemblies, chromebooks, projectors, and WiFi access. At San Benancio, our funds sponsored Math Counts, the Mathletics Competition, Spelling Bee competition, Steinbeck Young Authors registration and participation, IXL Subscription (approximately $2,000), Science Lab Supplies, Scholastic Weekly Readers and WiFi access.

    In the next year, funds will be used to install additional wireless access points to increase wireless capabilities.
