It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2021/22 school year at Washington Union Elementary School! My name is Diane Dumbacher and I am teaching 4th grade in Room 2 (Ms. D's Diner).  This is my twelfth year in education and third year with WUSD.  I earned my B.A. and multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University, Los Angeles and started my teaching career in Soledad. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year!

I grew up in Arcadia, CA with my parents and younger brither, Brian.  Most of my childhood days were spent playing outside, practiving art, visiting museums, traveling the country and taking our annual vacation to Kailua-Kona, HI.  My family instilled in me a love for learning, which I am passionate about bringing to the next generation.

When I'm not teaching I am enjoying all that Monterey Bay has to offer with its scenic walking paths, relaxing beaches and local cuisine.  I enjoy art and love to make soap, cards, jewelry, cross stitch projects, leis, and so much more!  You can also find me biking the local trails or snuggling up with my cat.
