• Ms. D's Diner

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2019/20 school year at Washington Union Elementary School. My name is Diane Dumbacher and I am teaching 4th grade in Room 2 (Ms. D's Diner).  I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade including many combination classes for the past nine years in Soledad, CA.  I thank the Washington Union School District, its staff, teachers, and parents for making me feel so welcome.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year!

I grew up in Arcadia, CA with my younger brother, Brian and mom and dad who both retired with careers in education.  Most of my childhood days were spent playing outside, visiting museums, traveling the country and taking our annual vacation to Kailua-Kona, HI.  My family instilled in me a love for learning, which I am passionate about bringing to the next generation.  I earned my B.A. and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University, Los Angeles.  I have also substituted in grades K-12 and have been a Kindergarten Aide here and in Washington state.

When I'm not teaching I am enjoying all that Monterey Bay has to offer with its scenic walking paths, relaxing beaches and local cuisine.  I enjoy art and love to make soap, cards, jewelry, cross stitch projects, leis, and so much more!  You can also find me snuggling up with a good mystery novel with my cat and two guinea pigs.

    Sincerely,

    Ms. Dumbacher
