This is my 24th year teaching in WUSD. I continue to grow with each new year and am happy to now be teaching 5th grade!  I taught 2nd grade for six years, 3rd grade for sixteen years, and this is my second year teaching 5th.  I love my current teaching position and my new school site within the district!  I am a highly qualified teacher who received my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology from Cal State University, Long Beach.  I returned to the Salinas area and received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Chapman University.  Teaching was always my career choice.  I am thankful to be working at such a wonderful district with terrific students, parents, and staff.  My daughter, Hannah, is in 4th grade at Washington Union School, and we are both happy to be involved with such a great school community.

My mission for the class is to have every student engaged in his or her learning, and for ALL students to succeed.  I feel strongly about every child taking responsibility for their learning, and for each to feel the rewards of their hard work.  I have high expectations for ALL of my students and believe each child can achieve their curriculum goals.  My goal is for all students to become self-confident both academically and socially.
