As we close out another school year and prep for 2023-2024, I am excited to carry on the tradition of the well-rounded program of academics, art, music, dance, technology, and overall wellness of our students. The staff at Toro Park School is dedicated, committed, and understands the unique academic, social, and emotional needs of younger students, and I cannot imagine a better place for a child to begin their educational career.
In addition to the teaching staff, Toro Park School works with the contribution from 100+ volunteers who provide support for the classrooms, playground, library, art docent, picture of the month, and other areas of need. Through our partnership with the Washington Union Educational Foundation and the Parents' Club, we are able to maintain computers in the lab and in the classrooms, teachers are provided state of the art technology in the classrooms, art supplies and classroom materials are available, playground equipment is maintained and individual classroom needs are supported.
Students participate in community service activities at each grade level. Some examples are the annual canned food and book drive, collecting toys and gifts for young cancer patients, collecting socks and quarters for Dorothy's Place, Bucket Filler Fridays and planting native plants at Toro Creek.
I look forward to working with you and enjoying another great school year together. Toro Park School truly is "A Great Place to Start".
